Storage of access data

When our website is accessed, access data is stored in a log file on the web server of our provider.

This data record consists of:

  • the IP address of the requesting end device,
  • the date and time of the request
  • the name and URL of the requested file,
  • the amount of data transferred,
  • the message whether the retrieval was successful,
  • identification data of the browser and operating system used,
  • the website from which the access was made, and
  • the name of your Internet access provider.
  • the collection of this data is necessary for technical reasons. This data itself does not allow us to draw any conclusions about your person. Unfortunately, it is technically impossible to use our website without providing your IP address.

 

Cookies

Use to ensure user-friendliness

We store cookies on the storage medium of your terminal device in order to make your visit to our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions.

Cookies are small text files that are sent from our provider’s web server to the browser of your terminal device and stored on it. Social plug-ins

Plug-ins from the social networks for the German market Facebook (operator: Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland), Twitter (operator: Twitter International Company One Cumberland Place Fenian Street Dublin 2 D02 AX07 Ireland) and Google (operator: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) are integrated on our website. To protect your data, we use the so-called 2-click solution. This means that when you visit our website, no personal data will be passed on to Facebook, Twitter or Google (hereinafter referred to as “plug-in providers”). Only if you click on the plug-in of the respective plug-in provider, personal data will be transmitted to them.

By activating the respective plug-in, the corresponding plug-in provider receives the information that your browser has accessed our website, even if you do not have an account with the plug-in provider or are not logged in to the provider at that time. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a server of the respective plug-in provider in the USA and stored there.

Event registration

The data requested when registering for an event will be used to carry out pre-contractual measures and to fulfill the contract. A distinction is made between data that must be provided (indicated by an asterisk) and data that must be provided voluntarily. Without the mandatory data (data records), no binding registration can be carried out. We collect your year of birth in order to ensure that you are of age, or to take any precautions if you are under age.

We request your landline or mobile phone number in our legitimate interest so that we can contact you immediately in the event of changes to the event. If you do not provide us with this information, we may not be able to contact you in time. The other voluntary information will also be used for the execution of the contract.

By providing IBAN, surname and first name of the account holder, you can issue us with a direct debit mandate. The voluntary additional information is also used for the execution of the direct debit man- date. If you do not provide us with the mandatory bank data, no direct debit will be made and you will have to arrange payment for the event elsewhere.

All data provided by you will be stored electronically. The resulting databases and applications may be maintained by IT service providers contracted by us. Failure to provide voluntary data will have no effect.

User account

You have the option to create a user account for our website.

When creating a user account, you will be asked to provide data records. The data fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory and are used to establish and execute the user agreement. The remaining data is voluntary.

Without providing your e-mail address Providing a password, we cannot authenticate the access data and offer a protected user account. Without providing your year of birth, we cannot verify whether we need your parents’ consent to set up the user account. Failure to provide the voluntary information will have no consequences.

Activities / Programmes / Projects

Legal and contractual obligations

Storage period and deletion of data

After completion of the contract, your data will be deleted, unless there are legal obligations to maintain. In this case, this data will be stored for up to 10 years. Your data will be blocked for any other use except for permissible postal advertising, if applicable.

The data you provide for your user account will be and remain stored until you or we cancel your user account.

The data you provide when using our contact form will then be deleted as soon as the communication has ended or your request has been completely clarified and this data has not been collected for contractual purposes at the same time. Communication regarding legal claims will be stored until the end of the statute of limitations.

Disclosure of your data

We take all necessary technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from loss and misuse. For example, your data is stored in a secure operating environment that is not accessible to the public.

When you register for an event, your personal data is transmitted in encrypted form. In particular, we use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology for this purpose. Please take into account that while we strive to create a secure and reliable website for users, third-party access cannot be 100% ruled out.

Please note that complete confidentiality and data security cannot be guaranteed when communicating by e-mail. We therefore recommend sending confidential information by post.
